Think you have to paste them direct into the post, not on sidebar.

Meloney, when you are in 'create a post' you will see a task bar running across the top. One of the last boxes has a picture on it. Click on it and it will take you through a process that will let you upload the photo/artwork directly into the post you are writing. It sometimes requires a little fiddling but you can alter size etc before you publish.
